đź’§ Who We Are
At WaterRising, we believe that safeguarding our water systems is a matter of national strength, local stewardship, and generational responsibility. As communities across the country face increasing pressure on aging infrastructure, rising costs, and unpredictable weather, we must act with urgency and purpose to protect our most vital resource.
WaterRising is a values-driven initiative committed to restoring trust in water leadership by investing in people, especially women and girls, who are ready to serve, lead, and protect. With women representing less than 18% of the global water workforce, we are working to expand opportunity, strengthen workforce pipelines, and ensure that every community has the talent it needs to deliver safe, reliable water services.
We work alongside utilities, industries, and local governments to identify barriers to employment, promote practical training, and apply technology to expand access to water careers, especially in underserved and rural communities. Our approach is rooted in conservation, accountability, and service, and guided by the belief that every girl should see herself as a water leader.
We don’t just talk about change—we build it, one community at a time.
🌍 WaterRising: A Global Framework for Water Workforce Leadership
The WaterRising Global Framework for Water Workforce Leadership & Sustainability is a bold, systems-based initiative designed to empower local water leaders, align infrastructure with community priorities, and shape global water policy through inclusive, data-driven strategies.
We envision a future where communities flourish through innovative, resilient, and trusted water leadership. By empowering the water workforce and aligning infrastructure with long-term community, economic, and environmental priorities, we build partnerships that protect water for people, prosperity, and future generations.
Our mission is to advance transparency, stewardship, and workforce development in shaping community-driven, sustainable, and globally informed water policy.
